June 4th, 2011: Danish Soldiers Club Meeting, Petaluma, California.

4560 Kastania Rd Petaluma, CA 94952

Let's be there at 10:30 AM to set up the shade canvas, arrange our display and plan our demonstration of The Viking Art of War.  The event ends around 3:00 PM.

From Henrik Olsgaard:
"Today I attended the Danish Soldier's Club monthly meeting and lunch gathering. At the meeting I made an offer that Havn and the Vikings of Bjornstad come to one of their monthly gatherings. They accepted my offer and said that next month's June 4th meeting would be their preference. That is the one meeting where they invite another danish society to come and share the event with them. This would give us an even larger audience and may generate other contacts or offers in the future ( much as this one was a direct result of our Oakmont presentation, last year).

"Today, I estimate we had an attendence of about 100 + people ranging in age from 4 to 80+.

"The site location is just a mile or so south of Petaluma on Highway 101. The venue is basically outdoors with various shade structures and trees available. Picnic tables are available for us to use for displays and a choice of either grassy parking lot or gravel covered courtyard, for any combat/ art of war presentation. A bathroom is available for costume changes, as needed.

"The luncheon meeting and event starts around 11:00 AM and ends about 3:00 PM at the latest. It includes a formal member meeting at about 12:30 to 1:00 ( of which less than half of the prople present attend, while the rest stay outside the meeting room and socialize with each other) followed by an informal sitdown lunch. Our Art of War presentation could be scheduled for Noon or a little earlier ( though late arrivals after the formal meeting are likely - most people go for the food and drink) and after we could just man our display setup as we wished. We can eat or not as we choose. The only negative aspect of this event is no free food, drinks or remuneration was offered. Drinks are fairly priced ranging from $1 for a can of coke or pepsi on up for beer and spirits. "
