Agenda:
Costume Academy wants to have a Viking costume class.
Yoko has volunteered to run a class on Viking Costumes for 1.5 hours. No expenses to be paid.
She will provide an overview of male and female costumes showing layers.
Yoko needs to figure out what the women wore under their under-dresses... If anyone knows, please contact her.
Yoko would love volunteers, especially those with nice kits - and
at least one more lady with a very authentic kit.
We can decide who knows best for each of the topics and set up a script for the 1.5 hours with Q&A slots...
She hopes to show the Costume Academy authentic Vikings.
Here is the general plan - start from the skin layer out and allow Q&A at each layer with ability to touch and ask questions.
She would like to have a couple of model Vikings start in their layer closest to their skin and then work their way out, letting
the students ogle, examine, and ask questions. She wants them to have a packet with Bjornstad info, basic patterns for male and
female garb and a list of links for books (sources), shoes, accessories, bling and websites for more study (She would appreciate help with
contents of said packet).
Clothing and kit to include:
- Under tunic
- Over tunic
- Trousers
- Cloaks
- Shoes, leg wrappings, socks
- Weapons
- Hats
- Pouches
- Belts
- Bling
Henrik will bring books to show sources for
some of the above. Yoko has a sample inkle loom with trim in progress. Henrik is lending her a loom.
Yoko will provide some food.
